My choice (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=24-116-232&depa=1) What do you guys think of this monitor and the price? I'd really like a new 19" black monitor to go with my new system and my 17" is like 4 years old so I think its about time to get a new monitor, want something that can actually do 1600x1200 (gotta tax the 9800 pro somehow) haha. Thanks guys any other suggestions for 19" black CRT's are welcome.

Thanks man, at leats one person gave me some input...no one else? Anyone have this monitor? I'm not really sure how bad the apeture lines will annoy me, I'm generally not very picky.

I have this monitor :) I have a few complaints though:
1) The monitor makes a buzzing sound
2) There are some red hues around the corner of the screen
3) Sometimes there are faint vertical lines on the edges of the screen visible on white backgrounds.
4) There was something, I just can't remember it right at the moment. If think of it, I'll post back ASAP.

I RMA'd it to the service depot in my area and they said it was fine and shipped it back to me so I've just learned to live with it. The aperture grill lines are quite faint and don't bother me. Apparently, the Rev.2 P95F+B monitors are better so make sure the one at Newegg is a Rev.2 before you buy it.

I just picked up a Dell 21" Trinitron monitor for less than that at Tigerdirect. It's refurbished but it's an awesome monitor. Check out the Tigerdirect outlet on Capital Blvd (i'm assuming you still live in Raleigh) I think they have a few left.

1600 X 1200 at 85hz is real nice.

It's about a mile or so north of 440 on the Left side. ( as your heading north) There's a big red sign so it's pretty easy to spot even on Capital blvd. Definitely worth checkin out.

I got my P95F+ last week brand new from techonweb.com shipped for $240 (this is the lowest price you will find).

The aperature lines are no worse than my last trinitron monitor.
Like the reviews say, text is only very faintly blurrier at the edges than near the center because of the difference in dot pitch there.
Geometry is good when you adjust it correctly.
Mine makes NO significant noise and I have better hearing than 90% of the population (tested and proven); must be the other fellows particular monitor.

Yeah, many of these problems are most likely specific to my particular monitor. I've heard a few horror stories about these Rev.1 monitors and I requested a Rev.2 when I did my RMA but I never got one  On the contrary, I’ve heard some great tings about the P95F+B Rev.2 monitors, so by all means if you can get a Rev.2 get one.

BTW, you've definitely got better hearing than me, I'm deaf in one ear.

How do you know which rev monitor you received? Is it the model number or indicated somewhere else?

I had a p95f+ for a little over a yr. Couple weeks ago it decided to blow up.. well, smoke and spark. Scared the **** outta me. Anyways, rma'd it and received a brand new one back. Im assuming its a rev 2 cause the colors are a lot more vibrant and I now have 3 choices for brightness settings. Rev 1 only had one choice. I think those are the only differences.

Four days after receiving my Rev 2 I heard a loud pop and the screen funked out for a second. After that, off and on, I get waves of bright/darkness in the screen. I think it might have been a capacitor in the PS section. Since it was less than 3 weeks old, Viewsonic is sending me a new one and picking up the tab on shipping the old one back.
