I want to set up a second monitor, and because of space it has to be lcd. I have best buy gift cards and want to buy something there, but it seems that everything there is poor quality and overpriced. Should I be worried about gaming, since I have a good crt that i can use as my main monitor?

The monitors at Best Buy may look like they have poor quality: they are all connected to one device that is displaying the images over a wide array of viewing devices. Generally, when wanting to see the "true" LCD show, it needs to be hooked up to an individual computer.
Gaming could be a bit of an issue on the LCD. I have an older Gateway LCD, and it doesn't have the refresh rate of the CRT's, and looks fuzzy when scrolling around for games, etc. However, thanks to the ever-changing world of technology, the newer LCDs have overcome some of this eye-crossing fuzz behavior.
Are you saying that you want the LCD to be your main monitor, and that is why you're worried about gaming? Or are you worried that it's going to suck the life out of your video card? 'Cause it won't. :)
