View Full Version : Best 19 or 20 inch lcd please advise
Putting a system together you have $1200 to spend on a LCD monitor. You company is purchasing it for you..Good gamer and important photo work to be done on computer. Remember its not your $ sony, nec/mitsu, veiw sonic, Benq, Eizo, Planar. Refresh rates clarity etc. Which one and why. Thank you in advance

I'd have to say this (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=24-001-113&depa=0)
would be a truly excellent choice at $1206. Right in the budget an its huge. Excellent contrast ratio and great refresh rates and it can do UXGA native . I would dream of having that monitor.

Dell 2001fp hands down. Love it and wouldn't trade. No ghosting at all in games, and absolutely unbelievable clarity in alkl applications.

We have this LCD for "family" use (aka i don't get to use it much) not bad for DVD's dont try to run UT on it though does have some ghosting issues. Absolutely positively the best monitor i have ever used for basic internet/WP'ing etc. Colors are excellent and view angle is quite good and it is huge and really does look good

yeah ghosting cause the hella slow 25ms response time compare to a 16ms one.

19" = Dell 1901FP (Samsung 191T)
20" = Apple Cinema Display
Got these two connected to my Mac dual G4 and Dell Precision workstations at work. Sweet stuff. Cost didn't come outta my pocket though. The Sony 18" I have at home's ok, but only because I paid an arm for it, so I can't complain. Text and image are sharper than the Samsung IMO, but lacks DVI and can't tilt to portrait mode.
