trouble with 955df in games

In some games, such as the Far Cry demos, the game will start and show the title screen, but as soon as i try to play the game, the monitor goes into sleep mode.
do i simply need to download new drivers or is there something i should be more worried about?

Try updating your video card drivers to the latest version, that will often solve a problem such as this. Also, in the game properties, you should be able to specify a resolution. Try setting this a little bit lower as your monitor may not support the resolution that the game is trying to run in. I highly doubt that this is a problem with the monitor but more often than not, the problem lies within your graphics card.

Yea, tweakerxp has the right idea. I had this problem a few times before, and have a few things similar at times too. For one, I updated my vid card, and that solved it one time. Another time, I had to decrease the resolution *it was an old game, and I was trying to play at 1600x1200*, and obviously, my monitor wont go that high. The second thing that I noticed, which is related to my vid card on this part I believe, is when I play a game at 1024x768 on a refresh rate of 60, my screen is compressed into a rectangle. Increasing the refresh rate will solve that, or going to a high/lower resolution. Off topic though, just try out the recommended.
