just like the question, i see when you try to install themes (running mandrake 8.0) it looks for "kdthemes" or sumthing like that but the files ive d/l'd arent in that format but they are the right themes.............also, why are some of the options to increase and decrease fonts greyed out in netscape, and as well as in conqueror. sone webpage fonts look real crappy! :(
i know mandrake picked up my geforce 256 sdr no problem so im not sure if i have to install drivers for that. andy help with these q's are greatly apprecciated!

I'm not using my Linux box atm, so this may be a bit off. If you go to http://www.kdethemes.org , there are plenty of themes to DL. I haven't been there for a while---but themes for different versions of KDE used to be ID'd. Use the right versions for your version of KDE.
There is some danger inherent in running a theme for the first time. I've had "bad" themes crash my box to the ground, at least in the past. By "ground," I mean a total re-install of the OS was necessary. If you know more about Linux than I do, maybe you know how to deal with the fatal final freeze better than I do!
I don't know where Mandrake puts KDE in its file structure. In SuSE, I go to: /Opt/KDE/yadda/yadda/Theme Manager. There's a file that holds the KDE themes that you already have. SuSE 7.0 insists the the themes be in foo.tar.gz format. So put your additional themes in themename.tar.gz form(they probably already are).
When you navigate to the Theme Manager from the desktop, the themes you added will show up. Enjoy!
Go to the directory you downloaded the themes to and change the file type to look for to *.* press and you should see the zipped files, select the file and click ok. Do not unzip them leave them zipped up. Hope that helps!

I don't like to use themes but some of them have great backgrounds. What I do is download the themes I like and extract the wallpapers and just use them. One wallpaper for each of my desktops, it adds some variety.
