I have just divided the list into the ATI and NVIDIA sections.

What do the ATI 9200 cards run at? My friend is looking into one, but I couldn't find the speeds.

You forgot to add the "V" in the RV350 and RV360 core description of the R9600 line, and also didn't emntion anything about 256MB versions, and what the clocks are (mem/core)..ALso didn't mention the DDRII clockspeeds on the R9800256...

9200 - [250/400] (64, 128, 256)
SE - [200/333] (64, 128)

Some of the SE series can have their RAM running @400 sometimes, but usualy it's 333Mhz.

Just a side note, the NV40 cards are just the GeForce 6800's. They dropped the FX label to them.

There are several versions of the 9600XT floating around with higher memory speeds - mine runs at 750DDR default (Sapphire) as does the Powercolor version. Various 3rd party cards, both ATi and NV based have tweaked or otherwise different clock speeds, so is this a "manufacturer default" list?

Correct, sorry I should have mentioned that. The speeds listed here are for the ATI or NVIDIA referance cards, and are the usual speeds for the given card. Some manufactures will sell their cards at higher speeds, just like some manufActurs bundle extra software or cables in the retail packages.

Just seems to be a clock (core and memory) increase to me. I pulled that off a chart from www.tomshardware.com but I cant find any specific info on it.

Anyone else have any incite on this conundrum?

go to evga.com, they use the standard 6800 speeds from nvidia and have information on all 4 versions 6800 ultra extreme edition, 6800 ultra, 6800 gt, and 6800. good luck

I found this ranking list about a year back updated to a 9800xt.....

Edit: measuring performance with each card according to how they stand up to their sister products and competitor's products in the highest DirectX class the component is designed to work in.

IE, if the card supports DX9 & DX8, it's weighted against all other DX9 cards only.

I have a problem installing and taking out a radeon 9800 pro. I plugged it into the agp slot and tried turning it on but nothing happened except a bunch of blinking on the light bulb where it indicates loading so I realized I had to plug it into the power outlet thing that was inside my computer and plugged into the hard drive. I unplugged it from the harddrive and plugged it into the video card but realized there is another one sticking out but too far from both video card and harddrive to be plugged into both. Anyway I also realized I needed to plug the little fan wire to the motherboard so I took out one of the wires form the fans inside already and put the video card one in. Anyway I boot it up and it gives me a disk boot failure error "please inser boot up cd" or something. So I thought either I dont have a powerful enough power supply in terms of watts to run it (even though i ran a 9700 pro) or its a bad card, so i tried taking it out but its so stuck even when I pull it with all my might I cant get it our (the right side edge). Can anyone help?

that little wire is what i was talking about being for the fan and was it wise to put it into one that a fan inside the computer was cooling cause there was nowhere else to plug it into?

Have you consulted the manual for the video card? If you don't have one, have you looked online for one from the manufacturer?

Did you plug the power back into the hard drive? Obviously you need power to all those things in there. You video card should have come with an extension for the power cord. If not, you can get them cheap from just about anywhere.

Make sure everything is plugged in, consult the manual and try again. If you are still having problems, post here.

Need more info on your PC. Is it Dell, Gateway, etc, or home built? What motherboard do you have?
