I heard LCD's will not have the problem of screen burn in like CRT's if you leave the same desktop exposed for an extended periods.

True?

I use the screen saver anyway. Even better, turn it off when your not using it.

The burn is more concentrated it you dont really use it.

I know the character LCD's don't burn. A Crystal Fontz Admin said so. I guess this applies to LCD monitors as well.

LCD's of any kind do not have burn in problems. For that matter noether do most of todays CRT monitors. Cathode Ray Tubes have come a long way, excpially since most of America cant go without its TV. I had a teacher confirm this once. We set a very intensive high contrast black and white picture set still on a monitor at 640x480 resolution once and left it for an entire school year when I was in high school and it had no burn in. Screen savers are really pointless now of days. There more for security and asthetics then anything else.
