Is there any cure for fingerprints on LCD's? They don't look too bad when the monitor is on, but when it is off they don't look so great.

well you can lick them off - but then you have tongue prints... :D
i usually use isopropyl alcohol and a microfibre cloth..
you can also get disposable monitor cleaning tissues..
but check your monitor manual first, you don't want to eat away an antireflective coating or something with too strong a solvent..
So the IPA doesn't damage the LCD screen? I'm too chicken to clean any electronic parts other than the CPU die (my lab partner cleaned her eye googles with methanol and completely ruined the UV coating on it, ever since then I get paranoid)

yeah its probably not a good idea ... but im brave
*edit: actually a lot of people recommend a 50/50 distilled water/ISA solution - instructions (http://pcsupport.about.com/library/weekly/aa030903a.htm) *
(from my manual)
• Do not use alcohol (methyl, ethyl or isopropyl) or any strong dissolvent. Do not
use thinner or benzene, abrasive cleaners or compressed air.
• Do not wipe the screen with a cloth or sponge that could scratch the surface.
• To clean your antistatic screen, use water and a special microfiber screen
cleaning tissue used in optical lens cleaning, or lightly dampen a soft, clean
cloth with water or a mild detergent.
• If the instructions above do not help in removing stains, contact an authorized
service agent.
heheh i don't have the cojones to use alcohol on a 19" LCD
I'll try it on the 15" LCDs at work, let's see what happens
Uhh, I just use a wet paper towel, and then dry it with a dry paper towerl, so as not to leave drip marks. It works just fine for everything thats happened to my lcd.
Your manual should say EXACTLY what to use to clean it proerly per their recommendations.
