what do you guys think about this monitor?

im purchasing this monitor:

AOC 7f 17" crt (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00006BALR/qid=1073252470/br=2-6/ref=br_ts_full_//102-0816097-0200149?v=glance&n=1067714)

is this a good monitor?

It's pretty decent, however.......
Newegg has the Same Monitor (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=24-160-115&catalog=19&depa=1) for only $98 and also, the Viewsonic E70F+SB (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=24-001-120&catalog=19&depa=1) is $129, (only $2 more than what Amazon.com sells the AOC for), and IMO would be a better buy than the AOC.

Also, the Samsung 753DF (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=24-001-120&catalog=19&depa=1) @ $115 would be a decent buy as well, but they have been known to give trouble in terms of image quality to some.

the one from amazon has free shipping and no tax. i was looking at it because of its dimentions.

Well, with the free shipping and lack of tax, it does look quite a bit better, and probably the best quality you can get at that price.
If you're willing to pay around $20 more, the Viewsonic (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000C0XRS/qid=1073332271/br=1-5/ref=br_lf_e_5//104-0899424-7690349?v=glance&s=electronics&n=1068298) I mentioned previously is also available with free shipping, but the AOC looks to be a pretty good buy.
