hey, i have a friend who has a lcd monitor and he complained to me today about how it shows ghosting all the time. i went over to check and out and sure enough, there is ghosting. and i am not talking about in games. i am talking about in windows on the desktop. it ghosts the icons a bit to the right and it makes the picture very dull. the thing that i am curious about is what can cause this? i told him to try a different monitor cable as the one he had is very long, but i was thinking that his refresh rate of 75 Hz might be excessive for a 15" lcd that does a max of 1024x768? thanks

You might have him check for the native resolution and refresh for that particular monitor. 75mhz seems a little off. And without additional specs, make, etc., not much more can do.
I would bump the refresh rate to 60Hz.
On my NEC 1760NX, 60Hz is best for DVI. Same for FPS in games...I turn on v-sync, or else things will ghost or tear.

we got it figured it out... his cable was crappy. he went to a lan party last night and i suggested that he try to borrow somebody's monitor cable to try and it worked fine. he thought his monitor cable was high quality just cause it looked cool :D
