When I first got my PIII700 i tried overclocking it but got Windows Registry errors and it was pretty unstable.

But know after 3 days of burning in the processor I am able to reach 124Mhz FSB @ 868Mhz CPU speed. Maybe if I give it time it will reach higher speeds????

Does anyone have the same situation with their CPU's???

What you are seeing is not uncommon. All of my systems have benefited by burning in for a few days. Running Seti or Prime95 to work the processor hard during this period seems to be the most productive.

Thanks for the tip, where can I can those programs from?

All I've been doing to burn in my PIII700 is by running 3dMark 2000 and running timedemos on Quake 3 Arena for about 3 days.

How long did you wait until you increased your processor speed??

Seti comes from UC Berkeley- just plug Seti into a search engine and it will get you there. www.octools.com has a lot of stuff too. Different burnin programs and handy utilities.

Thanks for info people...

I will run those programs to continue my CPU "burn-in".

I dream of 933 or higher!!! (More is better!!)
