I am looking to get a new monitor and it is going to be a TFT, I've been looking at either the NEC LCD1960NX or the BenQ FP991, I can get either one reasonably cheap, so the price of them isn't the problem.
Both of the specs say they have 25ms response and DVI input, I play games, DVD and watch TV on my PC.
Any help / input is much appreciated.
Thanks

I like the nec 1980sx or the samsung 192t/191t+.

Do you happen to know the difference between the 191t/191t+/192t/193t? Specs are up on samsungusa.com, but I think they've fudged some of them. Even on the box the 191t+ is claimed to be able to do 1280x1024 @ 75hz, whereas it can actually only do 60hz..

The 191t+ appears to be the same as the 193t/192t. Since it is a 193t, only renamed for the us it seems, it uses the same panel as the 192t. From Anandtech's review of the 192t you can see that it uses the same panel as the 191t only slightly more refined. The 191t+/193t uses the same design as the 173t and therefore offers a very thin bezel and a portrait mode. The 192t uses the same design as the 172t and therefore has no portrait mode, but can be wall mounted. Personally, I like how the 192t looks better, but hey that's why I bought a 172t earlier this year. Oh almost forgot, the nec 1980sx looks to use the same panel as the 191t+/192t and therefore should look slightly better than the original 191t. (well as much better as a monitor with the same panel can hope to.) Read the anandtech review of the 192t to get an idea of how it compares to the original 191t.
samsung claims 750:1 contrast ratio on the 192t/191t+ and 700:1 on the 191t. That 50:1 improvement accounts for the very slight improvements found by anandtech.
edit: almost forgot to answer ur 75hz question. It's not a lie that all 3 of these monitors can do 75hz. But that is the maximum refresh rate and looks less crisp than 60hz. Also, i have heard that you can damage your lcd from running the refresh rate out of spec (anything over 60hz in dvi). Lcd's don't refresh in the same sense as crts, a pixel is either on or it is off (I'm pretty sure you know this, but if not I think the info is in one of the stickies), so refresh rate is only necessary to be compatible with the video card and nothing else. 75hz sounds better to ppl just coming off crts I think, so they put the max worse rating on the box (just a guess as to why they don't put 60hz on it).
oops forgot to mention 75hz in only available on the analog hookup, and 60hz is recommended for the digital with 70hz being the max that I would advise against.
