for the mouse if you have the money, the Logitech MX700 is very good, i've been using one for a few months and its great, i've had no problems at all:)

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?submit=manufactory&catalog=19&manufactory=1077&DEPA=1&sortby=14&order=1

Check out the monitor for 129 bucks. That's a pretty good deal.

Oh yeah, Welcome to the Forums.

If you have a pc fixit place around, most sell used stuff. You can usually find one for under 50 bucks.

If you do find a new 17" monitor for $60, it won't be very good. The Samsung 753DF is a good choice, if you can find a used one in good condition.

I have the Microsoft Optical wireless "Blue" mouse. Its awesome. NO Lag what soever and its cheaper than the 700.
