View Full Version : Happague WinTV PCI makes NF7-S unable to boot?

Grumble grumble....

Left over from my old rig, I have a WinTV PCI card, which sat around in an anti-static bag for a while... The other day, I remembered it, and went to install it into my NF7-S rig, which proceeded to crash just after detecting my hard drives, with an odd (badly translated lol) message about the CPU being damaged / undetectable, and instructing me to check the CPU settings in the BIOS.

Naturally, I panicked (hey, come on, it's a £100 cpu) and removed the card, which somehow allowed the system to boot up fine, retaining my overclock.

Any ideas as to why this card is stopping my system from booting? If you need any other info, just ask me :)

Thanks!

... and I've just realised that this is in the wrong section! LOL

Close enough.

Does it work if you de-overclock your system? It may be you're driving the PCI bus too fast for the card.

I'll give stock a go, but I don't think so, since I tried resetting the CMOS (hence stock everything) after it refused to boot the first time.

I think i'll go buy a TV rather than run underclocked to enable the card!
