Hi all, I just got my Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro in, and I'm having the weirdest problem. It seems to work until I install the catalyst drivers. When I set my refresh rate on the monitor, the actual rate it gets is lower than what I set it to. For example, when I set it to 60 hz, the monitor reports that it's at 36 hz and is out of range and cannot display it. When I set it to 70 hz, it reports 56.6 hz and does display video. When I set it to 75 hz, it reports 38 hz and says out of range.
Here is a quick rundown of my specs:
Celeron 1.7ghz (to replace my possibly bad 2.4c, the slower bus speed might be masking a motherboard problem though)
Asus P4P800 Deluxe
512 MB Corsair XMS PC3200 Low Latency Memory
Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro
MAG LT776s LCD (Analog, tried it with a DVI converter too)
I am at my wits end wits end with this computer. I am having so many problems (including what might possibly be either a bad CPU, bad motherboard, or bad ram), and just wish I could send everything back :(
Please, if anyone has had even a similar issue, please let me know what you did!
