What's the best P4 mobo out right now. Are there any with 6 memory slots. I was gonna get the 875P MCH/Intel 82801ER 800FSB mobo. but i cant find it anywhere. I'd also like something equipped for decent Overclocking.. I dont really care about an onboard video card. Thanks for reading

I guess gigabyte is good. it even has the 6 dimms like i wanted. Are their Mobos reliable? the one i have isnt. the onboard sound burned out somehow. and I cant even boot to windows even in safemode anymore. Which is why i'm buyin a new pc. I hardly ever upgrade, so i want a mobo that will last a long time

Do you have the version with the onboard SCSI card?

The gigabyte mobo is a lousy one. Due to the limitations of Mobo design and 32bit architecture, along with windows, you have to do stuff like match single and dual sided memory across channels and such. The Gigabyte is also overpriced, underperforming even with latest BIOS, a very sub par overclocker, and extremely finnicky about memory and is overall an un reliable board. You know why gigabyte has dual BIOS? Because it is the only mobo brand where the BIOS constantly gets corrupted enough to warrant it.

I would get the Asus P4c800 or p4c800 Deluxe, which I use, or even the Abit Ic7, which I have heard good things about.

Edit- I have worked with the GA-8KNXP and these are my experiences.

I was hoping gigabyte had changed... the Gigabyte mobo i have right now is really bad... I get more problems than i could mention. My PC wont even run in safemode. I'm pretty sure some circuits on my mobo might be fried or something.

OOO ur 3dMark2k1 score is SICK!!! A lot better than my 2300 i got when my PC was working.
