Can anyone suggest a good place to get basic motherboards? All the newer boards have onboard LAN, Video, Sound and I do not need any of these. What I have in mind is just a mobo that can support an XP 1800 tbred and some extra SDRAM I have, so that I can build a simple linux machine. Any suggestions would be great thanks

newegg refurbs, or even just the normal section, you could find a full size atx board for around 40 dollars

shuttles make some really cheap but stable motherboard, might look into those. You dont want to get something too cheap or the computer wont be stable, I had a friend get cheap everything and no matter what we did something wouldnt work right.
Hello All, I'm with Warlord2 on the cheap MoBo solution. I've purchased 2 of Shuttle's new nForce2 boards in the past couple of monthes and really like them. The ATX AN35N Ultra (SPP + MCP)and the mATX MN31N (IGP + MCP-T), if you want to know any more about them just let me know.

Check newegg's Biostar line up too:

(LOL, this is like the fifth time I have plugged Biostar this evening!!)
At any rate, I've had good experience with them for budget jobs, and they have all the features you'd expect.
