I never really gave much thought to it, but is there any functional difference between ATX mobos and micro-ATX mobos? Hell, I don't even know what I have in my case right now. Size is the obvious difference, but beyond that...? Do the regular ATX boards cool better because they're not as cluttered or are they slower or what? I'm going to be getting an Antec 1080 Plusview SOHO tower, so size isn't an issue, but the regular ATX boards are cheaper, so I need to know how it's going to affect things.
Micro ATX is smaller... that's the only difference.
They are smaller, and in my experience cheaper since there are less materials used. Most perform on par with normal ATX mobos, but sometimes lack features b/c of size constraints.
More on the subject.... (http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=218443) ;)

My dad's got a micro ATX AMD and I hate the thing. To correct that statement... I hate the size of the micro case and this chip runs so hot it's kind of scary. The cables and everything are very cramped. You also usually get fewer PCI slots because they are physically smaller.

Realizing my own stupidity, I've come to the dumbass answer to my dumbass question. The case is already decided, therefore my mobo options are decided as well. The Antec Plusview 1000AMG SOHO tower is an ATX case. Had I thought all of this through, I wouldn't be asking dumbass questions.
But it's a badass case right?
