View Full Version : mobo for AMD Duron 1.2 Ghz?

What mothjerboard would work well with a duron 1.2 GHZ? im building a system and i dont wanna spend a lot of money as its for a friend. She isnt going to be playing games and stuff, just downloading music etc. So basically the cheapest yet functional motherboard for duron 1.2 ghz

If you don't need many pci slots, the Asus A7N266-VM is worth a look. Everything is integrated. All you need to do is install the cpu on the motherboard and it's ready to run. Only $64 at NewEgg.

If you are going to using PC133 SDRAM, I would suggest the MSI K7T TURBO 2, I used it for a long time without any problems at all..It's under 50 bucks at newegg and most other places that carry it. Great basic Mobo for the price, and a decent overclocker too. No onboard video or ethernet adapter, so if those are things you need on the board, the post above mine looks like a sweet deal.

you can use virtually ANY motherboard with that Duron. I would choose from an NForce2 or a KT400 for DDR

I just did the very same thing. Built a Duron 1200 box and had to use PC133. I went with the Biostar M7VIW for $48 bucks (it can take DDR too.)
