Ok guys, here is my problem, ive recently installed a new p4 3.06, and im sporting the proclaimed neo2-fisr. I bought myself a xaser III case to make sure i had plenty of air movement and bought the CPU some AS3 with a slk-900 and a blowdryer(92mm tornado).

now ive read that with my cpu combo im supposed to get some pretty decent CPU temperatures and all i keep getting is around 45C on idle and 58C on full load. Ive reinstalled the cpu with the slk over 4 times trying different ways of putting the TIM on the heat spreader, from very thin to plenty, and ive had best results with plenty so far, ive tightened down the SLK all she can go so im prettysure she is making contact.

ive been hearing that my mobo has high temp readings, but nothing official yet, so im really stumped, could it be the cpu or mobo?

ive also noticed low vcore on the cpu isnt it supposedto be like at 1.55?? i see it down sometimes to 1.47 :-/

Its more than likely just the mobo reporting it wrong. I have the same board and my temps are high too with a very nice fan.

you never mentioned the name of your mobo. This would prob be better posted in Intel Mobos =d

I think the 3.06's ran pretty warm compared to other CPU's.. I know the 3.2C does...

What are you using to read the temps. Post some specs.

p4 3.0 800 fsb (slk-900u with tornado 92mm)
pc 3200 2 512 generic (says VT on the chips)
AIW 9700 pro (giant II cooler)
MSI neo2-fisr 865pe
creative audigy platinum 2
xaser III case (i insterted thermal probe but it seems to not show any temps at all so i dont know whats wrong with it)

im using mbm, pc health 4 and core center to read my temps and usually they get from 42c to around 54c temps, and i have seated the damn heatsink over 4 times trying different doses of as3 and still i dont know

edit* i dont know if this is normal but my systemp is 36C and nb temp is 63C

i seriously think there is something wrong with thisese reading because my system runs perfect without a BSOD or any freezes
