odd size. just curiouse

my old jetwayv333 pro was considered an "ATX" it fit all the ATX mounting holes in the case, all but the ones to the far right. but then i noticed when installing my new abit board, it used those holes and was about 3 inches longer.

So my question is, did they make a half size ATX? or is that what micro ATX is?
