You've been waiting for months??? I don't think so. Back around April, prices were at least $20 higher on average than they were in late June. The 2500 Bartons are only $85 now at NewEgg, down from around $110-115 when I was looking in April. The 2100+ I was looking at from Newegg is $68 now, it was over $90 in April. Prices have leveled out now, so you won't see any drops for a while, in fact they might go up, but they have definitely fallen in the last few months.

Theres a link to a site selling $1 pentium 4s in the general hardware section.
;) ;)
btw, cool name and avatar, TheMatrixHasYou.
Mine seems to be a cropped and blown up version of yours. Interesting.
Cyberwiz left out a small detail about that site... it's just being set up and not taking orders.

I'm sure he would have figured it out on his own. :D
General rule of life: If it sounds too good to be true, it is.
From all I have heard the next 'price' drop will not happen untill October 2003. Secondly, prioces has jumped up a lil. . . BUY now before you get the price boost

A few days after I bought my corsair xms 3200, the price went up 5 dollars. On the other hand, the price of the a7n8x deluxe went down 10 dollars. Depends on the tech I guess.

I thought that something was amuck. I've been trying to buy a 2.8b and either can't find more than 'the last one' & opened or crazy pricing..... They used to be 250.00 a few weeks ago, now 289.00 for the 'last one'.
I takes my chances and wait a few more weeks I quess, or break down and just buy a 'c' and that new max3 I been eyeballing ;)
spclwpns::: BUY the "C" :D you be VERY impressed
check my sig. . and that on alll stock everytihng chip cost me about 210 US
Intel is in the BIG lead over AMD. Let's hope they will being nice. Or they just being nice if AMD is closely behing their tails.???

In 2002 AMD did eight billion in sales. Not bad for the underdog on the block that hasn't been around to terribly long like Intel.
Anxious to see what they end up with sales for 2003.
When I built mine I said ixnay to Intel simply because of what I saved on the CPU alone. $75. Athalon 2100 downgrade 2700 B core OC'd 2195MHz, almost 2.2GHz ain't bad at all on air, EverCool CUD725, for a $75. processor mated with a fantastic $100. Soltek 75MRN-L MB.
Waiting for prices to fall? IMHO prices ARE low.

I agree. I have built 3 "grandma" systems recently for relatives and its scary how close (or exactly the same) the processors I was able to buy for their systems are to my own. Prices are just so low that I could buy a nice speed proc even for a casual user.
