fixing resolution?

i just installed some updates, and now my monitor is all messed up... im seeing 3 of everything overlapping on my screen.

i usually can fix it by changing the resolution, but i cant seem to find one that will let me view my screen correctly.

is there nething else i can do to fix it?

First try to get the monitor to the default factory settings by using the buttons on the monitor, then try to backtrack to the original drivers you had been using, not sure what you mean by updates.

Hasve you tried going in under "safe mode", and changing to something like 60hz? if you restart normally, you should be able to change it back to where you were at for resolution.

by updates i mean running windowsupdate and installing every update they give me.

i did not try safe mode... i just switched monitors (easy, temporary fix :) ), but i also dont think i changed the refresh rate.
