My birthday is coming up and Im going to get a 17" LCD screen. I have looked on the forums and the sticky's. I know the BenQ FP767 is really nice and doesnt cost a whole lot. I would like to know if there are any other 17" LCD's this good, or better, without speakers. This is my opinion but i really dont like monitor speakers, they are just so cheap and ugly.
So do you guys know of a 17" LCD thats just as good or better than the BenQ FP767 without speakers.
-Thanks :)

if budget is no concern, the viewsonic vp171b is a very nice monitor. No speakers, very thin bezel so it looks larger than it actually is. 16 ms response times, and it's $505 at newegg. check it out, you might like it:)
Personally, I would recommend 16ms LCDs for games (Hitachi, BenQ, NEC...etc), and the Samsung 172T (25ms) if you do a lot of work with graphics design or if color reproduction is more important to you than ghosting.

The BenQ is excellent for the price ($365 shipped). IMO it's not ugly at all with the speakers, it looks great. I've heard that the Hitachi CML174 is also nice.

The NEC 1760V is an excellent monitor also. It has no speakers, and is overall a great monitor. It looks great in my opinion too. The quality of this monitor is excellent.
You can see a pic of it here: (its the first two on the search not the last one) http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?DEPA=&submit=Go&description=nec+1760v

Believe it or not, Dell has a really good 18" on sale for about $449.25.
We have a few at work, and they look awesome.

That NEC monitor sure does look nice. I'll probably get the black one since ive never painted a monitor, let alone a LCD monitor before. Thanks for the input.
To bad its not a DVI connector.
