Ok, I think my CRT is in it's death throws. Every time I turn it on a red starburst appears....and the refresh seems to be throwing off my eyes a bit. I figure now's a good time to go LCD, but I want something that I won't regret buying in a few months..

I can't have any ghosting in games. Period.

Image quality needs to be good enough for word processing and the like, oh, and IMing...;)

Cheap, or not outright cheap, but sub-$400 is necesary

I know there are probably 200 posts like this if I look around, but I couldn't find any. I can see that sticky has some good LCD suggestions and conversing, but I'd like to be sure, and I know the people in this forum can help...thanks guys!

check the MultiSync 1760V or the 1760NX.....the main difference is that 1760nx has a DVI and SUb-D...... 1760V only SUB-D

Both LCD got pretty good rating at tom's hardware ...I actually own the 1760v....

It's on sale on newegg.... i think it's 390+ dollars not over 400 thou

It is pretty good..it has a 16ms response time....

I got mine without any dead pixels and works as a charm...

here is the link for the review.... http://www4.tomshardware.com/display/20030221/hitachi-04.html

BTW the 1760NX cost a little more cux of the DVI connector...

MY friend has the 1760NX under the DVI...but i don't seem any difference between DVI and SUB-d...

I'm another pleased benQ FP767 owner, also purchased mine from logical plus (free shipping, but had to pay tax).

Wrote a review about it too! :p

$366US plus free shipping (WOW), the cheapest i found here in Aus is $450US (AU$700) plus shipping. Still worth it?

Thanks.

I'd say so but i've never used another lcd other than my ancient 3.5 yrs old sony at work. the benq is far better than that but again that sony lcd is ancient.

Never had a Sony display, but experiences with my SONY stereo system have been AWESOME. The first electronic equipment i used that didn't **** it self just after the warranty ending.

Good brand.

sony make some remarkable equipment

namely monitors and what i label *readers* being anything using removable disks; floppy drives, cds, dvds, mds and they make sound tuners

however they couldnt make a decent set of speakers or a quality amp to save their lives...

:D get the right make for the right job!
