I was browsing in Walmart today and made my customary trip to Electronics. Once there, I started looking at the cameras and thought, "I need a camera." My nice 35mm has been broken ever since some dumb kid ran into me and made me drop it, breaking the tiny gears inside. I figured it wasn't worth it to replace it, and so I didn't. But then I saw this (http://www.vivitar.com/Products/DigCams/3mpdsc.html#V3715) for $156.99. I couldn't pass it up. (Yes, I know, I could have got a better one cheaper on the internet, but it was an impulse buy. I'm entitled to one every once in a while.)

I just felt the need to gloat over my new toy.... Don't we all?

But I don't actually have it.... My mom made me put it on layaway instead of just going to the bank and getting the rest of the money from my account. Oh well. I'll pay it off next month.

Nice! That's a great price for a 3.3mp camera. But then I don't know how well the images come out. Make sure you get some rechargeable AA's for it. You'll need NiMH with at least 1500mA.

I just bought a Canon S50 a few weeks ago and I'm still learning how to take pics with it but I'm getting much better. What did it replace? A 7 yr old Olympus 1.3mp digital camera :D

I'm already there on the rechargeables, most of my electronics use 'em.......When they are charged. And I'm charging them wrong, I have a 10-year-old NiCD charger, which is bad for the NiMH's, but it's still cheaper than all the alkalines that I would go through.

You really should invest in a NiMH charger. I've seen a few that come with 4 AA's and the charger for $20-$30. It's well worth the investment.

Putting electronics on layaway is always a bad idea. By the time you pick it up, it'll be cheaper either at the store or somewhere else. But your mother has the right idea. You should really be patient with large purchases. Usually when I want something over $100, I'll wait a month to see if I really still want it. If at the end of the month I still want one, I'll buy it. There are a few things I haven't bought because of that wait period and it's saved me a lot of money.

Yeah, I know, it's just that I want it NOW!!!!! :D

Plus, I didn't have the money in my wallet either, so I have to wait till my mom feels like taking me to the bank.
