refresh rate keeps resetting

whenever i play a game, my refresh rate gets set back to 60, from 75. i dont care if its 60 in a game, but on my desktop, i really like the 75. its so much easier on your eyes when you spend a lot of time reading on it. how can i set the default desktop resolution to 75, so i dont have to keep changing it whenever i exit a game?

you have to over-ride the refresh rates in your video card drivers, thats the only way i can get high refresh rates to stick both in games and on my desktop

where did you do that? i tried to do it before, but it says it only changed it in direct 3d applications. my desktop still ran at 60hz.

The newest Detinators have it in them. Go through Display properties and look at all the settings. One of them will show a list of resolutions and allow you to overide the default refreshrate.

well, i tried it again. we'll see if it works this time. heres a screen shot of what i set. is this what you are talking about? thanks for the help.

Yep that's what I'm talking about. It works fine on my brother's mx440.
