Not to be an a$$ or anything, but have you checked the manual or the HP website? I found tons of good info in my coolpix4500 manual the second time through it. The first time I was in such a hurry to take pictures that I didn't really read it well.

Sounds like that's a "point and click" type camera. No access to all the manual features. Those are nice if all you want to do is take simple snapshots in pretty normal conditions. I kept my Coolpix4500 in auto mode for 3 months before I learned how to use the maunal settings. Had to in order to take shots at my brother's basketball games and trackmeets. Have fun with it. Digitals cameras are the best way to lean photography cause there's no film.

yeah this will do for now, but my new house has a nice backyard, like postcard material haha, so maybe ill get 5mp digicam and sell some prints or w.e :) but this wil ldo just for simple stuff :)
