CRT Monitor with high refresh rates at high res.

Can anyone recommend any CRT monitors that has a high refresh rate, say 85hz+, at 1600x1200 or more?

I like ViewSonic...
so check them out.
But in all reality you should go to a computer store and look at the monitors to make sure you like what you are looking at.

If you are looking at 19" CRT's then the Sony CDP G420S has excellent specs, dual inputs, I have one and love it...Next on my list would be the Mitsubishi DiamondMax 920S...Better picture than the Sony and .24 dot across the entire screen...Both are very nice...Cant go wrong with either of these 19" CRT's...:)

I've used CTX and ViewSonic and they are pretty good. I agree with jAY though, if you want a good monitor, you can't really go wrong with ViewSonic.

Thanks, I'm looking for 21"+ monitors. I'm looking around and Samsung 1200NF 22" looks good, 1600 x 1200 @ 85 Hz and 2048 x 1536 @ 79 Hz, at a cheaper price than others.

Go with viewsonic's professional 22" monitors
they have probably the best specs and decent price
plus higher bandwith than graphics series for your higher refresh rates

second would be mitsubishi's top of the line

I really liek the quality of my sony its starting to get a bit old now and its still going like a champ does 1024*768@ 100Hz. Altough sme people do not like the little grey line on the screen of a trinitron but i dont notice it anymore.

the 2 barely noticible cathode ray lines shouldnt be noticible unless you are looking for them

I had the worst experience ever with my Viewsonic P225f (22" flat screen CRT). I bought it from viewsonic, broke 3 months after I got it, spend $75 sending it back, 2 months later I get it back, and 2 months after I get it back... same fkn problem! I still haven't sent it back cause i'm so ****ed (and lazy). I'm gunna buy a Samsung 957MB 19" CRT now, .2 dot pitch. oh yeah, my friend ordered a Viewsonic p225f also, his broke around the same time as mine, he sent it back, and when he got it back it was packaged incorrectly and it broke (100% viewsonics fault, worst packaging job i've ever seen). he sent it back to them, and they said they'd send him a new one... 1 1/2 month later he calls them up and they LOST it, lmao, they sent him a new one(he doesn't want to deal with their crap and hes sellin it on ebay soon, as will I once I send mine out and get a new one back). I'm never going with viewsonic again. If I were you i'd go with the 22" Mitsubishi. Its refresh rate is just a little lower then the viewsonics, but its dot pitch is much better. Only reason I didnt get it was cause I didn't have enough money, after all this viewsonic crap i would have. good luck

How much do you want to spend? You can get a really nice Sony GDM-F520 that will do 1920 X 1440 @ 85Hz if you like. A little search on the web will get you the price of this really nice monitor.

My one suggestion: You can't always go by what a monitor looks like in the store. Stores use really crappy computers to drive their display monitors and a lot of splitters. One other thing, I ordered a ViewSonic 15in LCD through DELL's online store (not packaged with a computer) and it came with a few dead pixels and one or two of them were bright red. So I called Dell up and basically they sent me a new one while I had the old one, then they paid for Overnight Express to ship the old one back to them. I had the new monitor in less than 3 days and didn't pay a cent for shipping. Just my experiences.

evewn if it dosent officaly support high HZ at a high res, you should still be able to push it with a program :) or mayben even your OS :)

what cathode ray lines? i have a 19" trinitron... where are these lines?

yea, they're no big deal. i noticed right away, only because i'm a picky freak, but i learned to ignore.

you've got an M3? you rich pos mofo, 12 in 1/4? thats nuts! my friend just got a 325i, nothing compared to a M3 but its still a real nice bimmer.

er..... in case you didin't notice, that's not an actual m3 i have there..... read through it... it's a metaphor. 12.31 CYCLES? that doesn't really make much sense to me :) i want an m3 though, it's my dreamcar. my case modding is m3-themed
