soundcard and fps

can adding a decent sound card to a system that is using onboard sound yeild greater fps stability during games?

No,It wont add greater FPS.But I use my onboard sound and Its better because It dont consume as much resources as all the junk creative has with the card.I cant tell the difference between onboard and my old x-gamer soundblaster.

onboard sound never makes your machine faster,
but, i can say it's better than external...
