I have an abit bd7II mobo, and am uing the onboard audio.
A few questions:
1) does it support a3d, eax etc.?
2) how much of a hit does peformance take when using ac97 as opposed to sound card?
3)would you say the ac97 is good enough for games?
Thanx!
performance hit?? still looking for that answer....as for how does it perform during games.......really nice.....but, depends which on board sound you have......i have a abit at7 motherboard which has on board 6 spearker surround support and spdif out support......6 speaker surround under analog worked fine with creative inspire 5.1 speaker setup........recently went to spdif out and have on board connected to 500w aiwa digital reciever with 200w powered aiwa sub, 4 klh 2-way bookshelfs and 2 klh 2-way surrounds, and optimus (sweeet!!!) center speaker (200w). this setup REALLY ROCKS!!!! very nice....only bad thing was that i am not able to use 3d depth with spif out.....you can use it with analog but not digital.....still wondering why.....not really a must but would of nice to tweek.....anyhow, depending on which on board sound you have and what speaker setup also......i am sold with it and saves me a pci slot and money also.......:D :D
