24" Sony GDM-FW900 Best monitor Sony every made. Then they dicontinued their crt line for flat panels  They are still highly sought after and still sell for quite a bit. I paid almost $2k for mine when it was brand new. I uses either the normal vga 15 pin or the more exotic BNC cables. I would use those but the cards are very very expensive.

19" Viewsonic A90f+ Flat-Screen CRT

I gotta hand it to ya, Viewsonic, this is one SICK monitor... around 45 lbs. but DAMN worth it... $230, not bad at all... i love the ultrabrite mode (YES thats spelled right, UltraBrite is the way they made it, not Ultrabright)... my desk caves in with this monitor, but my desk sux... it looks nice (Silver on Black) and has a great picture... unless u use ultrabrite mode with 50%+ brightness setting.... i love the 1792x1344@61hz max resolution... they got some sick refresh rates on the resolutions

1792x1344@61hz
1600x1200@65hz
1280x1024@85hz
1024x768@105hz
800x600@132hz
640x480@150hz

I'd reccommend this monitor, i wanna go out and get a viewsonic LCD, preferably 21", but im a cheap and poor little 13 year old, with no income..CRAP

With LCD's becoming so much cheaper and usable for gamers, this poll should almost be updated by differentiating crt's from lcd's and the sizes for both. Now I have a 21" crt and a 19" lcd in the mail....

17" black LCD next to a 17" beige CRT(16" viewable area)

not the best combo ever, the crt is old and the color is kinda dull, but dual monitors rocks, and the movement between the two is very smooth

Still sharp rendering, six year old 17"x1024x768x75Hz Micron badged Vuesonic. I have to give half the credit to my nVidia TNT2 32 Riva card. It made that monitor seem like it was brand new again. From my 24" vantage point, I can see all.

Wish: 16:9 HDTV/monitor the size of my wall :cool:Update: That old 17" CRT is all but dead. Looks very green as the red gun is giving out. I'm about to pitch it as I've since upgraded to a 19" Samsung 955b CRT and now just replaced that with a very nice Samsung 920T LCD. The wife will get that 955 and I'll get rid of that 17" once the local waste disposal company has its annual household hazardous waste drop off ;)

More realistic wish: Dell 2405 16:10 24" LCD in center with two 20" LCD side wing monitors
